I like writing stories that take people to places they’ve never been — and they’d never have the chance to see.

Secret clubs, cult groups, backstage at a rock gig — these places are like worlds within our own world that are usually hidden or restricted from view.

Finding and entering these places gives me a sense of escapism, like science fiction, without requiring a suspension of disbelief — because it’s all real.

So too is the sense of hope. Inside these places I often see a stronger display of humanity and care among the people, which may explain why they’re removed themselves from the common tribe.

This gives me hope there’s a  better, happier world than ours or, hopefully, the positive traits from these places will eventually enter into our own.
